Since 2010 the club had been holding its own well-attended real ale festivals each April and November, highlighting beers from different parts of the country.

Early history - Pat Collins was bar manager for many years during the 1970s and 1980s and wrote a potted history of the club's early years shortly before he died.

The club would like to thank the members of the local bands Sam Apple Pie, Jimmy Riddle & the Pisspots with the Three Bidets who made considerable contributions to the club in years gone by. Their efforts boosted membership and bar takings during the 1970s and 1980s, and they also helped out with redecoration and refurbishment on a number of occasions. See the bands in action on YouTube
